inspired by quilts

i've been a bit obsessed with paige evans' layouts for a while now. her style of creating layouts that sometimes looks like quilts just always grabbed my attention.  you see i come from a background of women who loved to sew and that included making quilts.  so far every time i've tried to sew i just can't fully get into it. so since i love paper products i figured for now i'd channel that quilt love onto a scrapbook page.  i didn't actually use a quilt pattern, but this layout reminds me of a quilt.

more layouts

hello... hello!  is anyone still reading my blog?  gosh it's been a while since i posted.  but it's been busy, busy, busy here.  still in the middle of moving house but i wanted to post a couple of layouts that i worked on a few months back that i never got around to posting here.

this first one i really wanted to stick to gold and white.  i can't seem to get enough of anything gold right now!

the next one was from one of my 31 before 31 challenges - purple layout!  i really love how it turned out, but if i had it to do over i'm not sure i would of used that photo.  ha!...it's just so unflattering!

sequin obsession

it is crazy around here.  thus the no posting for nearly 2 months.  i was busy with work, then went on vacation and now dealing with my grandmother in the hospital after having a heart attack.  so i'm not promising lots of posts, but i will try and get a few up this month.

on to scrapbooking... i've been OBSESSED with sequins lately.  oh and modeling paste.  but today's layout is all about the sequins!!!

project life: year 30 - may

yes!  i have started back on project life.  for the past couple weeks i've taken 3 or 4 days to work on it and now i'm only 1-1/2 months behind. :-)

today i am going to share my album and the little bit that i have for may.  since my birthday is on the 30th that means i only had two days to put in for may.  i actually did 2 full 12x12 layouts and one project life spread for those two days.

later this week i'll share all of my june layouts with you, so be sure to check back!

just a brief explanation of what i did on the 30th and 31st... on my birthday i went with my parents to tulsa for a bit of shopping.  we had a great time even though there were thunderstorms off and on all day.  but then that evening, just as we were leaving town we ended up in a really bad storm that ended up producing a tornado just behind us!  it was definitely the scariest thing that i have ever been in.  i'm so thankful that it was a small tornado and that it didn't produce too much damage.  then on the 31st i went to rogers with my mom for a day of shopping and then that evening i met up with friends for dinner and some froyo.  i really had a great two days celebrating my golden birthday.

i'm going to use this layout to complete one of my scrapbook challenges in my 31 before 31 list.  this will be for the "journaling" challenge.  i rarely include that much writing on a layout, but the tornado was such a memorable experience that i really wanted to record it.

i may add another 12x12 layout to the may section as i do want to include my 31 things before 31.

project life: year 29 - june - part 1

i think i mentioned it previously, but i'm using the martha stewart binder and tabs from staples.  i love the aqua color. here is a pic of the tab i've used for june.

this is the first section of my june layout.  i was still getting used to the whole project life style and kept it pretty simple.
